Twirling Candy

This is the first of hopefully many posts highlighting horses that we may see live in November.

Twirling Candy, a 4-year-old son of Candy Ride, won the Strub Stakes (Gr. II) on Saturday by 4 1/2 lengths. He didn't beat horses with great accomplishments, but his time of 1:46.53 for a mile and an eighth was really good.

TC has now won 6 of 7 career races, including a Gr. I and two Gr. II races. However, he is yet to be proven outside of California. He is owned by diet guru Jenny Craig. His next race is expected to be the Santa Anita Handicap, and I'm hoping that his performance this year earns him a spot in the BC Classic.

Here We Go

I am turning 40 on November 26, 2011. In celebration of this event, I will be attending the 2011 Breeders' Cup World Championships with a select group of guys on November 4th and 5th. This blog is my journal of events leading up to the big weekend.
